Frequently Asked Questions About Die Casting
What is die casting?
Die casting injects molten metal under high pressure into a reusable steel mold to produce repeatable metal parts.
What die casting services do you offer?
We provide aluminum die casting and zinc die casting services, including DFM review, mold design, tooling, high-pressure casting, trimming, CNC secondary machining, surface finishing, quality inspection and global delivery.
What alloys can you die cast?
Common aluminum and zinc alloys including ADC12, A380, A360, Zamak 3, Zamak 5 and others.
What is the difference between aluminum and zinc die casting?
Aluminum die casting is lighter and better for heat dissipation, making it ideal for housings, brackets and structural parts. Zinc die casting offers better thin-wall detail, superior surface finish and excellent plating capability, making it preferred for connectors, hardware, locks and decorative components.
Do you provide mold design and manufacturing?
Yes. Mold design, DFM and tool manufacturing are available.
Do you provide DFM analysis?
Yes. We review wall thickness, draft, gates, venting, parting line, porosity risk and machining allowance.
Can you make prototypes?
Prototype evaluation can use CNC machining, rapid tooling or limited casting trials depending on the project.
Do you support low-volume die casting?
Yes, when tooling economics and part requirements make it suitable.
What tolerances can you achieve?
Tolerance depends on alloy, size, geometry and whether critical features receive CNC machining.
Can die cast parts be CNC machined?
Yes. Precision holes, threads, bores, sealing faces and bearing seats can be machined after casting.
What surface finishes are available?
Shot blasting, polishing, powder coating, painting, plating, conversion coating and laser marking are available.
Can you produce thin-wall parts?
Yes. Wall thickness depends on alloy, flow length, size and mold design.
How do you control porosity?
Gate design, venting, temperature control, injection parameters and process monitoring help reduce porosity.
What CAD files do you accept?
STEP, STP, IGES, X_T, SLDPRT, STL, DWG, DXF and PDF drawings.
Do you provide inspection reports?
Yes. Dimensional, material, trial, coating and leak-test reports can be provided when requested.
Are you a die casting factory or a trading company?
We are direct die casting factory in China. We operate our own die casting machines, tooling workshop, CNC machining and finishing lines in-house — you work directly with the manufacturing team, not through a trading agent or middleman.
Do you ship to the US and Canada?
Yes. We regularly supply custom die casting parts to customers in the US, Canada and other countries, with full export documentation and reliable international delivery.
