Why Choose US for SWISS CNC Machining Services

What is SWISS CNC Machining?
Swiss CNC machining is a specialized manufacturing process, originating from the Swiss watch industry, known for producing highly intricate and precise components. The technique’s unique sliding headstock supports the workpiece extremely close to the cutting tool, which minimizes both deflection and vibration. This stability allows Swiss CNC machines to achieve exceptional accuracy, making them particularly well-suited for manufacturing long, slender parts and components that demand very tight tolerances.
How does Swiss CNC machining work?
The precision of a Swiss machine comes from its unique method of handling material. It feeds bar stock through a guide bushing, which rigidly supports the workpiece at the exact point of machining. This localized support minimizes deflection and is key to its stability and accuracy.
Unlike a standard CNC lathe where the workpiece is fixed and spins, a Swiss lathe allows the workpiece to slide back and forth along the Z-axis as it rotates. This dynamic movement, combined with the ability to use multiple tools simultaneously, enables complex, overlapping operations. Although famous for producing turned items like screws, Swiss machines now have the capability to create intricate pieces that require no turning at all.

What RoHS and REACH Restrictions Affect Material Selection for Swiss CNC Parts Imported into the USA?
We have turned away orders that looked simple on paper — a brass connector, a leaded steel pin — only because the destination assembly was covered by RoHS. That experience…
How Do You Verify That a Chinese Factory Is Using the Exact Material Grade Specified on Your Drawing?
We have seen it happen more than once. A purchasing manager sends a drawing clearly calling out 316L stainless steel 1. Parts arrive. They look right. They measure right. Then…
Does Black Oxide Treatment Provide Adequate Rust Protection for Swiss CNC Parts Used Outdoors or in Humid Environments?
We see this question on almost every RFQ where black oxide is listed as the default finish — and the answer almost always surprises buyers. Black oxide creates a magnetite…
